Solution 1: Reconfigure Internet Explorer on your Windows Computer
- Run the Internet Explorer program on your Windows either using the icon on the Desktop or directly from the Start menu.
- Click the Gear icon located at the top-right corner of the screen and select Internet Options.
- Now from under the Advanced tab click Security.
- Now you need to ensure that Use TLS 1.1 and Use TLS 1.2 options are checked and Use TLS 1.0 option is unchecked.
- Save the settings and try to run the payroll update once again.
- In case, if the error is not resolved, then as a secondary troubleshooting step you can follow the same procedure after switching your Windows in safe mode and try to run the payroll update once again.

Solution 2: Clean SSL State from Internet Explorer
- Run the Internet Explorer program and click the Options menu from the top right. The icon looks like Gear.
- Now click Internet Options and navigate to the Content tab.
